Striving for Science C89 pt2
"Are you the car owner?" Finally, the man took the initiative to speak, "Please come in and have a seat."
"Sorry to bother you." Shen Chang'an shamelessly walked into the house, as if he didn't see the raw meat and sausages inside, and sat down on the old leather sofa.
"Sir, I sympathize with your situation, but this has nothing to do with me." The man repeated the explanation he had given to Captain He to Shen Chang'an.
"I understand." Shen Chang'an smiled, "You look so refined, you don't seem like the kind of person who would do something so uncivilized."
"Thank you for understanding."
The young police officer breathed a sigh of relief. It was great to encounter such a reasonable person involved in the case.
"Speaking of which, it's quite a coincidence, sir. You're originally from Wuming City, and your license plate seems to be from Wuming City too?" The young police officer said, "Looks like you're both from the same hometown."
"Such a coincidence." Shen Chang'an smiled with narrowed eyes, his gaze falling on the man's back.
"Is there something behind me? Why does the officer keep looking behind me?" The man shifted his neck uncomfortably.
"Nothing, I just didn't expect that there are still people who make their own sausages by hand." Shen Chang'an's smile didn't reach his eyes.
Because he saw a woman with long hair covering her face standing not far behind the man. When she saw him appear, she seemed to be very scared and kept shrinking back.
He felt inexplicably familiar with this woman whose face he couldn't see, especially the fear she had for him, wishing she could be as far away from him as possible. It was too familiar.
"It's more hygienic to make it myself, and it also sets a good example for the students, encouraging them to be more hands-on." The man laughed, "It's just a personal hobby, you're laughing at me."
Shen Chang'an smiled without speaking. He saw the female ghost with her hair covering her face, pointed at the room, and said in a trembling voice, "Inside... he's holding someone captive."
Shen Chang'an's eyebrows jumped. He took out his phone and sent a message to Dao Nian, saying that he had encountered a scumbag and would be down in a while.

Dao Nian received a message from Shen Chang'an and called Liu Mao into the car: "Stay downstairs, I'll go up and take a look."
"Sir, you don't like dealing with those humans, why don't I go..." Liu Mao's voice grew quieter as he saw the gentleman's eyes turn cold.
"You, you go, Chang'an will definitely prefer you to be with him." A powerful desire to survive saved Liu Mao's speaking skills. He saw that the gentleman's expression gradually returned to normal.
After the master got out of the car, he slowly breathed a sigh of relief. Unrequited love in a male, truly terrifying.
But today's incident was truly bizarre, a flowerpot actually hit their car. What kind of unbelievable luck was this?

"Sir?" Shen Chang'an suddenly said, "Did rats get into your house? Why are there strange noises?"
"Rats?" The man smiled politely, "It's possible. This is an old residential building, even with careful attention, it's inevitable that these little things will sneak in."
"That's a coincidence, my boss is particularly afraid of rats. I got his favor by being good at catching rats, and now I'm his assistant." Shen Chang'an took off his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to help the man catch rats.
Dao Nian, the boss who was afraid of rats, as mentioned by Shen Chang'an, stood at the doorway: "..."
"No need." The man quickly stood up and reached out to stop Shen Chang'an, "How can I trouble a guest."
"What's the big deal, we're all from the same hometown, it'd be awkward to be too polite." Shen Chang'an reached out to push the man away, but despite his seemingly gentle appearance, the man was surprisingly strong.
"Really, no need. You caught them today, and there will be new ones tomorrow anyway." The man refused to let Shen Chang'an enter his room, "Your time is so tight, you should go investigate the perpetrator first. I just have a few rats here, it's nothing serious."
Captain He found it strange. This man even made his own sausages for peace of mind, which meant he was a very clean person, as could be seen from his tidy room. Yet, when he mentioned having rats in his house, he was calm, as if he wasn't bothered by it at all.
How can someone who loves cleanliness tolerate sharing a room with rats?
Moreover, judging by his appearance, he wasn't trying to avoid troubling others, but rather, he was strongly resisting the man's entry.
He immediately realized something was wrong and got up, striding towards the room.
Shen Chang'an, who was arguing with the man about whether or not to enter the house, watched as Captain He walked through the female ghost's body, too late to stop him.
The door burst open, and Captain He saw a clean and tidy room, so clean it didn't seem like the home of a middle-aged widower.
"Even if you're police officers, you shouldn't just barge into someone's private space." The man's face darkened, and he reached out to close the room door, but Shen Chang'an blocked him with a hand.
"I saw it." Shen Chang'an smiled at the man. "I saw the rat hiding in the wardrobe."
The man met Shen Chang'an's gaze and suddenly felt fear. There hadn't been any rats passing by, so why did this person say a rat was hiding in the wardrobe?
"Sir, I find it offensive when people intrude on my private space. Please respect me!" The man glared coldly at the three police officers. "You're police officers, and you're just watching a stranger invade my private space?"
Shen Chang'an looked at the female ghost standing by the wardrobe door, pointing at it. The smile on his face was replaced by coldness: "You're so nervous because what's inside the wardrobe isn't a rat, but a person, right?"
"What?!" Captain He didn't hesitate, rushing forward in three strides and untying the rope that secured the wardrobe door.
The moment he opened the wardrobe, Captain He was shocked by what he saw. The two girls were bound together and stuffed inside the wardrobe. The wardrobe wasn't filled with clothes, but with thick cotton.
The cotton was stained a reddish-black, and the most horrifying thing was that both girls' limbs had been skinned.
"Quick, quick, call an ambulance!" Captain He wanted to bend down and carry the two girls out, but their limbs were covered in blood, and he couldn't bring himself to touch them.
Shen Chang'an was also stunned by this scene. He had never imagined that anyone could be so twisted. Trembling, he pulled out his phone and started dialing for emergency services.
Seeing that his secret was about to be exposed, the man turned and ran towards the door. He saw someone blocking the entrance and, without thinking, reached out to push them aside. But as soon as his hand touched the person, he let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
He felt like he hadn't pushed over a person, but a poisoned needle.
"Ah――"
He writhed in pain on the ground, and even when the police came over to put handcuffs on him, he hadn't recovered.
"My hand! My hand!"
"Playing dead now that you've been caught. I've seen enough of this trick." Thinking of the two girls lying in the closet, the young policeman couldn't help but kick the man hard: "Scum!"
Another colleague knew that his current actions were against regulations, but he chose to look away. Then, when he grabbed the man's arm, he squeezed hard.
The man was struggling so hard, there was a risk of him escaping, so he used more force. He wasn't breaking any rules.
"Dao Nian!" Hearing a shrill scream from outside, Shen Chang'an looked out and saw Dao Nian standing at the door. He quickly pulled him away from the man: "This is a deranged beast, stay away from him!"
Dao Nian frowned: "What happened?"
He wanted to go over and take a look, but Shen Chang'an stopped him: "Don't go. Do you know any emergency doctors here?"
"Yes." Dao Nian scanned the entire city with his divine sense, "I seem to have a hospital here under my name. I'll have them send the best doctors and emergency equipment over immediately."
"Okay, okay, okay." Shen Chang'an was too preoccupied with the fact that Dao Nian actually had a hospital to be shocked, and he was just nervously pacing around the room.
The two young girls looked like they were students, and they had lost a lot of blood. Shen Chang'an was worried about their safety. Even more helpless, he could only watch as they were tied up, afraid to untie the ropes, fearing it would cause more bleeding.
The traffic in the old city was terrible, and with it being the New Year's Day holiday, the ambulance that Shen Chang'an and Captain He had called was stuck in traffic.
"I know some first aid, I'll go take a look." Dao Nian walked into the room. His handsome features and elegant demeanor, like a prince from a royal family, were out of place in this room filled with the stench of blood.
He bent down and approached the two young human women. The amount of blood they had lost was beyond what humans could withstand. Even if the ambulance arrived, it was unlikely they could be saved.
Parts of their legs had been cut away, revealing the bone beneath. Dao Nian infused some spiritual energy into their bodies, then turned to meet Shen Chang'an's worried gaze. "They should be fine, they can hold on until the doctor arrives."
Shen Chang'an noticed that the female ghost was too close to Dao Nian, who couldn't see her. Worried that the ghost's yin energy would affect Dao Nian's health, he walked over and pushed the ghost aside. "Hopefully, the ambulance will arrive soon."
The female ghost, trembling with fear, was speechless.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he heard many footsteps approaching from outside the building.
It was the emergency doctor and the nurses who arrived.
Shen Chang'an quickly pulled Dao Nian aside, avoiding blocking their path and affecting the rescue efficiency.
"Sir." A beautiful woman in a coat, who had come with the doctor and nurses, saw Dao Nian and seemed delighted. However, with Shen Chang'an present, she managed to control her emotions. "Sir, I haven't seen your face in many years. Are you, are you well?"
Shen Chang'an looked at the woman, then at Dao Nian, his brows unconsciously furrowed slightly.
Seeing Shen Chang'an frown, Dao Nian thought he was still worried about the two girls, and patted his shoulder: "I promise they're fine, don't worry."
The forgotten woman: "..."
She, alive, standing here!
Give me some face, okay?
